Steve Laver

President
What’s perhaps most noteworthy about Steve, is that after becoming an Owner at our Storied Places® location in Whistler in 2003 he became so passionate about the business he took over the company! Steve brings a wealth of senior executive experience, most recently as founding partner of Bentall Capital and Chief Operating Officer of Bentall Corporation in Vancouver. Prior to his tenure with Bentall Corporation, Steve held the position of President and Managing Director of Brookfield Management Services out of Toronto. He also spent 13 years with Trammell Crow in the United States as Managing Director of Corporate Services. A landed immigrant in Canada now, Steve is married to Janet and together they have four children. Educated in Illinois at Principia College and at the Harvard Business School, Steve considers himself a business builder - which combined with his genuine enthusiasm for the product, can only mean great things ahead for Storied Places®.

Picture of Melissa ClancyMelissa Clancy

Director of Marketing
Melissa’s career was established in the marketing department of Grand Hyatt Melbourne, where she spent 5 years immersed in corporate branding and customer relationship management. Pondering life outside the hospitality industry, she decided to negotiate the agency world (AKA ‘the other side’), spending the next 5 years developing and implementing integrated marketing solutions for an array of clients and industries. Feeling confident her stripes were sufficiently earned, she chose to really mix things up by moving some 8000 miles from home to defect back to the corporate marketing world. Since joining Storied Places®, Melissa has been responsible for the development and delivery of our corporate brand initiatives. She is also Australian, and has a funny accent, which we try not to hold against her too much.
